Charges Government for encouraging consumption of liquor
Hyderabad, July 22, 2007
The Lok Satta's national coordinator Jayaprakash Narayan addressing a meeting at the party office on Sunday said that the women's wing would spearhead the anti liquor agitation. He said that Lok Satta will launch an anti liquor stir on July 25 seeking stringent control measures to save 50 lakh families which are getting ruined in the State.
He charged the Government of seeking to increase revenues by encouraging liquor consumption and said that it was being sold illegally in 25,000 out of 28,000 villages across the State through belt shops. A 70 day struggle would be organized from July 25 and said that direct action would resorted to from October 5 if the Government failed to respond by then.
