To provide value added services at an affordable cost
Hyderabad, July 22, 2007In tune with the Union IT Ministry's e-Governance Plan (NeGP), the State Government is planning to set up nearly 4,687 ICT-enabled Community Service Centres (CSC) in rural areas covering all districts and mandals in the State. The Scheme is proposed to be implemented on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework with a vision of providing all government and other value added services to rural citizens in an integrated manner at the doorstep.
The CSCs are scheduled to be in place district level by September this year, they will be ready for use in all mandals by March next. The total cost of setting up of these schemes is around Rs. 75 crores. Highly places sources revealed that the CSCs are envisioned as the front end delivery points for the government, private and social sector services to ruralities. The idea is to develop a platform that can enable the government, private and social sector organizations to integrate their social and commercial goals.
The salient features of this scheme are - A three tier implementation frame work consisting of Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) at the village level. Service Centre Agency (SCA) for one or more districts to manages the VLEs and a State designated Agency (SDA) to facilitate the implementation process at the State level, National Legal Service Agency is proposed for assisting the Centre, SDA and other stakeholders in the implementation process.
