Steps to firm up sourcing of natural gas
Rajahmundry - East Godavari, July 21, 2007The Chairman and Managing Director of GAIL Dr. UD Choubey has confirmed that GAIL has signed an MoU with ONGC and Reliance for cooperation in the gas sector, especially for transportation of natural gas, modalities of which, were being worked out for transporting natural gas from various sources in Krishna Godavari and Mananandi basin through GAIL pipelines.
During a two day review meeting with the senior officials of KG Basin, Dr Choubey shared information on various steps taken by GAIL to firm up sourcing of natural gas with new gas finds by RIL, GSPC, ONGC and Cairn Energy which would ensure additional gas availability.
He listed out different pipeline works in different places in India and said that they have successfully completed Dahej to Dabhol pipeline project as a landmark in pipeline project execution. He express his happiness over the operation and maintenance team being awarded the International Safety Award of the British Safety Council. Top officials have participated in the occasion.
