Controversy arisen over awarding highest marks in revaluation
Hyderabad, July 20, 2007
The contentious issue of revaluation of answer sheets of the first year MBBS students of NTR Health University has been set to rest by the Division Bench of the AP High Court on Friday. The Bench upheld the decision of the university which had nullified the revaluation.
It may be noted that a controversy had arisen when it came to light that a large number of students had been awarded marks during revaluation and they were promoted to the second year. The Vice Chancellor reported the matter to the Council and the highest decision making body of the University nullified the revaluation.
The beneficiaries filed a writ petition before the court and a sing judge ruled in their favour. The university appealed to the Bench that the original decision of the Vice Chancellor was to verify the answer scripts but there was revaluation and unauthorized awarding marks.
