TDP surprised over the sudden decision of AIADMK

TDP President comments that it will not have any impact

Hyderabad, July 19, 2007

The sudden decision of AIADMK to vote in the presidential elections has surprised the Telugu Desam Party camp on Thursday. The TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu contended that it would not any impact on the future of United National Progressive Alliance. During the press conference, he said such events were to be expected as each party had its own compulsions.

Meanwhile, senior Telugu Desam Party leader SV Subba Reddy said there was nothing wrong in voting in the Presidential election as the Election Commission had made it clear that political parties cannot force or issue a whip.

The rebel TRS leader A Narendra has said he voted for the UPA candidate Patibha Patil in the Presidential Elections on Thursday. He said that he decided to vote in favour of Pratibha Patil to strengthen the demand for 33 percent political reservation to women and further added that women should play a part in the politics.
