The Police registered cases under section 188 of IPC (disobedience to orders duly promulgated by a public servant) against the TDP Polit Bureau Member P Ashok Gajapati Raju, the party district president YR Murty, former MLAs Sobha Hymavathi and RP Banj Deo and a few others.

According to police officials, the Sub Divisional Police Officer gave permission to the TDP district committee to take out a rally from the party office to Ganesh Temple near the Collectorate and also submit a memorandum to the officials concerned by a few leaders.

The TDP took out a rally, gathered unlawfully at the entrance gate of the Collectorate and staged a dharna there. A number of police present had a tough time in controlling the party cadre who tried to enter the premises.
