Court stays proceedings in case against Janardhana Reddy's son

Hyderabad, July 17, 2007

The AP High Court on Tuesday have stayed the proceedings in the criminal case filed against the son of P Janardhana Reddy for a period of six weeks. These stay orders were issued by Justice KC Bhanu of the High Court.

The petitioners brought to the notice of the court that initially a complaint was given wherein it was alleged that 40 unidentified persons attacked Raveendranath Reddy and his son and delivered blows. The petitioners complained that subsequently another report was given by Raveendranath Reddy wherein the information furnished by the driver of a car and a visitor who attended the function at the house of the daughter of P Janardhana Reddy was made available to the police.

Meanwhile, Janardhana Reddy on Tuesday evening called on the TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao at his residence. He said that he met him only to thank him for his support in the case. It is understood that these two leaders also discussed the Presidential elections due on Thursday.
