Hyderabad, July 15, 2007

The proposed indefinite hunger strike by Khairatabad MLA P Janardhana Reddy scheduled to commence from Monday was deffered. He said on Sunday that he deferred his indefinite hunger strike which he wanted to begin on Monday, in 'deference' to party president Sonia Gandhi who sent a message to him to drop the agitation in view of the approaching the Presidential Elections on July 19.

The breakthrough came when AICC observe and former MP Suresh along with Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanta Rao met him at his house . The two leaders also called on YS Ravindranath Reddy and also met the Advisor to the Chief Minister, KVP Ramachandra Rao before they called on P Janardhana Reddy.

In another development, Ravindranath Reddy in a press conference on Sunday said they were willing to reconsider the whole issue if the complaint filed by P Janardhana Reddy's wife was withdrawn. Janardhana Reddy after a one and half hour long meeting with AICC leaders said that he has decided to defer his fast on the plea by the Party High Command.
