District Collector flags off Platinum Jubilee

Vijayanagaram, July 15, 2007

On the eve of APSRTC Platinum Jubilee year celebrations, the RTC organized 'Platinum Jubilee Walk' in Viziangaram on Sunday. The MP of Bobbili, Botsa Jhansilakshmi released pigeons and the District Collector B Kishore flagged off to the walk to mark the occasion that was attended by public in large number.

Speaking at the gathering, the APSRTC in charge Regional Manager AV Choudhary said that the APSRTC was stared with 27 buses in 1932 and has about 19,700 buses catering the needs of nearly 1.2 crore passengers everyday. He said that the APSRTC has introduced various services for its passengers such as JET Card, CAT Card and Couple Card. He appreciated the workers and employees of the APSRTC for the development of the organization.

On this eve elocution competition was conducted and awards were presented to the winners. Top officials of the APSRTC were present on the occasion.
