10,000 jobs to be filled in six months; Five year jail term for rash driving
Hyderabad, July 13, 2007The State Cabinet at a meeting on Friday decided to till 10,000 vacant posts in the various cadres up to Group I in the Government over the next six months through APPSC. The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy directed the Chief Secretary J Harinarayana to initiate steps to fill these posts through APPSC. It is understood that he directed the officials to fill these posts within six months at any cost unless the APPSC request more time.
In another decision, the Chief Minister directed the officials to serve the transfer orders on the rest of the identified and the whole exercise to be completed by July end and expressed his unhappiness over the tardy progress in implementation of GO 610.
The State Cabinet also took a serious note of the increasing road accidents and resolved to amend section 34(A) of the IPC. It will result that the punishment for rash and negligent driving would be more stringent . The amendment is likely to be introduced in the coming Assembly session and would increase the jail term from two years to five years. In the event of death caused due to negligent driving the jail term will be go up to seven years with a fine of Rs. 5,000.
