Takes serious exception to the trading of charges
Hyderabad, July 13, 2007The Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy has asked the Andhra Pradesh State Mahila Commission Chairperson Mary Ravindranath and member Padmaja Reddy to step down from their posts over the ruckus created by them at Tirupati on Thursday. Before asking them to step down, he said to Mrs Mary Ravindranath over her behavior that damaged the reputation of Women's Commission.
He took serious exception to the trading of charges by the Chairperson and the member in full view of the media and said that the government could not tolerate such gross indiscipline by holding such high posts. He said that they have crossed their limits through their altercation at the Padmavati Mahila University where they had gone for inquire into the alleged misbehaviour of staff members with the University Vice Chancellor.
Meanwhile, the All India Democratic Women's Association condemning the bickering between the two leaders, demanded the constitution of an independent commission with a separate machinery and budget.
