Charged in connection with an assault case against a journalist
East Godavari, July 10, 2007The wife of Jakkampudi Rammohana Rao, J Vijaya Lakshmi on Tuesday surrendered before the Second Judicial First Class Magistrate in connection with an assault case against a journalist. She was an accused in this case was absconding for the last three days and the police failed to arrest her even though she was attending public functions.
She came to the Court along with her followers and surrendered before the Magistrate, Annapurna. Her son, Raja and brother in law Chinni surrendered before the court on Saturday in the same case. All these three accused along with 11 others were booked under various sections of IPC for assaulting the Eenadu Reporter Ch Muralikrishna and TV 9 cameraman T Srinivas when they were reporting the incident of damaging a cinema Theatre by the Minister's son and others in presence of Vijaya Lakshmi.
The two reporters filed case against 14 members in the incident in One Town police station. The Magistrate remanded them for judicial custody till July 20 and she was released on personal bail.
