Minister gives directions
Hyderabad, January 9, 2007
The Minister for Agriculture and Civil Supplies N. Raghuveera Reddy has given directions to Markfed to procure huge quantities of onions and sell the commodity at Rs. 7 per kg at all Rythu bazaars immediately. He was reviewing the prices of essential commodities on Tuesday, the Minister hoped that chilli and tamarind might come down in the open market as fresh stocks started arriving.
He directed the officials to continue the sale of tamarind, Blackgram and other essential commodities. The meeting has decided to urge the Central Government to increase the sugar quota to the State in view of the increase in the number of ration cards.
