Move against Alumina refinery

The Opposition parties and the Dhimsa Girijana Committee staged a dharna at S.Kota mandal Revenue Office on Tuesday protesting against the proposal to set up an alumina refinery a Boddavara village. Speaking at the gathering, CPI District president P. Kameswara Rao demanded stopping of the survey being conducted for establishing the refinery and sought an explanation from the District Collector and joint collector on the entire gamut of issues relating to the project.

The agitators relented following an assurance by the Joint Collector M. Jaganmohan, conveyed through circle inspector BVG Prasada Rao to hold discussions on January 25 to sort out the issue.
