Hyderabad, January 8, 2007

With the success of the first two ventures of the Biotechnology Part at Genome Valley at Shamirpet, the State Government has decided to launch the third one in Medak district. The officials have already identified 415 acres of Government land and 107 acres of assigned lands at Karakapatla village in Mulug mandal of the district.

Nearly twenty-four units are likely to come up with an investment of more than Rs. 1000 crore and provide employment to around 7000 people in the third venture. According to sources, in the first two phases, 33 firms have invested nearly 700 crore and nearly 2400 jobs were created by the companies. The first phase was grounded in collaboration with Shapoorji Pallonji Group at Turkapally village in Shamirpet mandal under Public Private Partnership pattern in 160 acres. Of this, 15 acres was given to Bharat Biotech Ltd., and the remaining land was allotted to 23 BT based companies.
