Union Minister Meera Kumar will present award

Noted Bollywood actor Shabana Aazi has been selected for Akkineni Nageswara Rao award for the year 2006. The award will be presented to her at a function to be held at Ravindra Bharati on January 13.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao said that this will be the second award after it was entrusted by Akkineni International Foundation a couple of years back. Last year the award was presented to Dev Anand. He said that she was selected for this award for her excellence in acting and also her humanitarian service.
The chairman of the foundation Venkat Akkineni said that the award will be presented to her by Union Minister Meera Kumar. The award carries a citation and cash prize money of Rs. 3 lakhs. The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will be the chief guest.
