Hyderabad, January 5, 2007

The one day strike in all 1200 branches and regional and head offices of five regional rural banks in the State was total, as they remained closed in response to the call given by the Joint Forum of Grameena Banks’ Unions to press several demands. They include parity in allowances as in commercial banks, parity of pension and retirement benefits, restoration of compassionate appointments and business linked recruitment and promotions.
