Hyderabad, January 5, 2007

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy hinted that the much awaited expansion of the State Cabinet before the Budget session of the State Assembly. Speaking at the session of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee meeting, he appealed to the Maoists to join in the main stream. He reiterated that the government would implement the GO 610 in toto.

Listing the various welfare measures that are under progress in the State, he said land acquisition was necessary for any project and would be done as per the requirement. He said that nearly 55 lakh acres were distributed among the landless during the last 50 years of which some 12 lakhs were taken back by the landlords. He further added that the Government is committed to resume the land from them and redistribute the same to the poor.
