The President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam will be visiting Mantralayam on Thursday. According to official sources, he will be spending in the district fro two hours and forty minutes and half of the time he will spend in the temple where he would be accorded a ceremonial reception with Poornakumbam. After a darshan and pooja, he will interact with nearly 75 Vedic and Sanskrit students of Sri Guru Sarvabhauma Sanskrit Vidya Peeth and also from Parimala High School run by the Math at the Pooja Mandiram.
Kalam decided to visit the temple town, one of the biggest pilgrim centres dedicated to the proponent of the Madhav School of Dwaita philosophy Sri Raghavendra Swami to take the blessings of the Pontiff after learning of its greatness by his scientist friends.
The interaction is expected to be lively as the President wants to know what is their in their minds and what they think about the country’s future according to honorary administrative officer. The other reason being cited for the President’s visit to Mantralayam is to see the Islamic dome on the Math symbolizing the religious harmony.
