Top politicians from various regions to play vital role in getting party tickets

Hyderabad, January 29, 2007

The Congress list of Corporators and Councilors for the ensuing civic body elections for Visakhapatnam, and Hindupur is likely to be finalized after vetting by the PCC president K Keshava Rao on January 31. Elections to GVMC and Rajahmundry Corporations as well as the Hindupur Municipal Council will be held on February 19 as notified earlier.

Union Minister T Subbarami Reddy, MP N Janardhana Reddy, Minister for Commercial Taxes, Konathala Ramakrishna and party MLAs participated in the discussions on Visakhapatnam whereas JC Diwakar Reddy and N Raghuveera Reddy took part in discussions on Hindupur.

Meanwhile, Congress party has announced 34 candidates who are contesting as corporators in the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation. The Minister for Roads and Buildings Jakkampudi Rammohan Rao and MLA R Suryaprakasarao released the names of the candidates.
