Lathi charge on BJP activists
Hyderabad, January 29, 2007The Himayat Nagar MLA G Kishan Reddy and city BJP president Prem Singh along with nearly 150 BJP workers staged a dharna at Telugu Samskema Bhavan on Monday afternoon. They are demanding release of scholarships and hostel facilities for BC, SC and ST students.
When the protesters were not allowed inside the office to submit a memorandum to BC Welfare Commissioner K Sunita, some of them barged into the building and damaged the window pans. The police resorted to lathi charge on the activists. The BJP called for a city bandh.
