Major parties celebrate Republic Day

National Flag unfurled at party offices

Hyderabad, January 26, 2007

Various political parties celebrated Republic Day on Friday with fervor. PCC president K. Keshava Rao unfurled the national flag at Gandhi Bhavan. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the need to accord equal importance to political and social spheres.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu at a function at his party office said that youth should be given a fair share in all sectors as sixty percent of the population is below the age of 25. He said that the fruits of the reforms should reach the poor and the farmers should get remunerative prices for the products.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president Bandaru Dattatreya hoisted the national flag at the party office while TRS party leader A. Narendra hoisted the national flag at the party office.
