Says Digital meters are more tamper proof
East Godavari, January 24, 2007
Minister for Transport and Cooperation Kanna Lakshminaraya was in Rajahmundry to attend few development programs in the region. Speaking on the sidelines, he stressed that the Auto rickshaw drivers need to install digital meters and that the Government will not step down its stand. He said that the digital meters are more tamper-free compared to the meters in current use. The Minister said that this decision was taken keeping the interests of the general public.
Meanwhile, auto rickshaw drivers continued to show their protest against this Government decision. The drivers says that the even the digital fare meters too are equally tameprable and that the genuine drivers and owners are made to face the wrath at this decision as installing new meters is an additional burden for them.
