62 km long Phase II of Outer Ring Road
Hyderabad, January 20, 2007The Chief Minster, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy speaking at the Cabinet meeting on Saturday said that the Rs. 8760 crore Hyderabad Metro Rail Project once completed will transform the face of public transport system. The most congested routes of Miyapur to LB Nagar, Jubilee Bus station to Falaknama and Habisguda to Shilapramam, the MRTS will have 63 stations along the 66 km stretch. The Cabinet approved the technical and financial bid documents endorsed by the Empowered Committee. The project will be implemented under viability gap funding scheme in which 20 percent from the Centre and another 20 percent from the State Government, which will also chip in with 11 percent, share equity. The remaining cost will be born by the selected developers who will execute the project on build, operate and transfer basis.
The Minister for Information Mohd Ali Shabbir told to media persons that the work will commence in June this year and the section between Miyapur and Khairatabad will be completed within two years. The State Cabinet also approved the 62 km length Phase II of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) project expected to cost Rs. 1731 crore and the works are likely to be completed by June 2009.
The Cabinet also agreed for setting up of large size bearings manufacturing unit by Russia based European Bearings Corporations. The government will give 50 acres at Rs. 30 lakh per acre at Adhibatla village of Ibrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy District.
