Total expenditure increased by 31.6 percent to Rs. 1251 crores from 950 crore
Hyderabad, January 19, 2007
A surge in personnel, operating expenses and unfavorable exchange rates has brought down Satyam Computer Services Limited's net profit by 21.4 percent to Rs. 337.23 crore in the third quarter ended December 2006. However, the total income grew 10.3 percent to Rs. 1671 crore driven by a sixty percent and 30 percent increase in revenues from domestic and exports in services respectively. Total expenditure increased by 31.6 percent to Rs. 1251 crores from 950 crore in the same period last year.
The chairman B. Ramalinga Raju told media on Friday that the 7.7 percent sequential revenue growth in the quarter was accentuated by 11 percent increase in offshore volumes. He said that the company managed to push up operating margins by 205 basis points sequentially due to greater contribution from the offshore segment and tight cost control on deliveries.
