Three-member high power committee to study

The State Government has formed a three-member high powered committee to tour Medak and Adilabad districts, study and recommend which is the best suited for the setting up of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) keeping in the mounting demand from Adilabad people for setting up IIT at Basar.
Principal Secretary Asutosh Mishra said on Wednesday on the formation of the committee. The committee has IIT (Chennai) former director R. Natarajan, Indian Institute of Science associate director N. Balakrishnan and International Institute of Information Technology director Rajiv Sanghal as its members. The committee will identify appropriate location and convey the same to the State Government, which late will submit the proposals to the Union Government.
The committee will shortly inspect Basar in Adilabad and Kandi, Ordinance Factory, ICRISAT and Lakdaram in Medak district identified as suitable locations for the IIT.
