Hyderabad, January 13, 2007

The police have arrested two Nigerian and one Liberian who bought goods worth Rs. 8.5 lakh at various shops in the city by using duplicate credit cards by transferring data from the magnetic tape of credit cards. The accused Chimex Atan, Olasunkanmi Olaiya and Salvatore Dilisi who were staying at Mahendra Hills in Hyderabad.

The West Zone Inspector B. Limba Reddy said that the accused were in possession of the duplicate credit cards belonging to others. They confessed that they came to the city a few days ago to meet another Nigerian who is the key accused in the racket. They managed to get three credit cads, used skimming machine to transfer the data from the original credit card to the fake one, and began purchasing.

They bought laptops, costly mobile phones, Jewellery, and other worth over Rs. 8.5 lakhs. He also said that they had been cheating banks for the last several months. The police arrested the accused and seized the fake credit cards and one passport.
