TRS charges Second SRC as undemocratic

Says will expose Congress in its ‘Palle Bata’

Hyderabad, January 11, 2007

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao described the decision to constitute second States Re-organization Commission as a gross insult to the Telangana people and is also against the popular mandate. Reacting sharply at a press conference, he said the Congress is being about the bush without declaring its stand openly on the separate Telangana issue.

Constitution of second SRC was improper and undemocratic. He said that the TRS, in its ‘Palle bata’ beginning from January 20 would expose the true colours of the Congress. He charged the Chief Minister with taking a partisan outlook in allocating funds to Telangana. He said that state of affairs of Telangana University spoke volumes regarding sincerity of the Congress.

The IIT was being set up near Hyderabad in preference to Basar only inflate rates of lands purchased by the Chief Minister and his party men, he commented. He said Basar would be a suitable location for premier institute as it had plenty of land, water and other resources. Even an airport could be built with a low budget, he added.
