Noted film producer Doondy no more

He was chairman of Nandi Awards selection Committee

Hyderabad, January 1, 2007

The well-noted film producer and chairman of the Nandi Awards selection committee P. Doondeswra Rao died of cancer at a private hospital in Visakhapatnam on Monday. He was 84 and is survived by wife, two daughters and two sons.

As the chairman of the Nandi Film and Television Awards Committee, he submitted his recommendations to the State Government recently. He produced more than 40 films in Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. His first strait film was Manchi Manasulu in 1957 and the last film was Subbarao ki Kopam Vachichindi. Several cine producers and artistes expressed condolences to him.
