3000 constables, 100 CIs and SIs in Hyderabad to be repatriated

Hyderabad, February 6, 2007

The Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has said that it will take a year for the Government to repatriate all the non-local police personnel working in the city in violation of GO 610. He said that it is not possible to immediately send the officers and constables back to their home districts and it will lead to administrative problems.

The selected constables and other for whom training is being given will be completed in the next six months. Once the new recruits reports for duty, the Government will repatriate the non-local police personnel in a phased manner. In tune with GO 610, the Government has decided to repatriate 3000 constables, and 100 inspectors and Sub Inspectors working in Hyderabad City Commissionerate.

He affirmed that the Government was committed to implementation of GO 610 and there will be no scope for further complaints. However, he admitted that the repatriation orders issued earlier in case of certain officers could not be implemented due to administrative reasons.
