East Godavari, February 4, 2007
The HMS that controls majority of the port workers unions has warned that it will not tolerate injustice to port workers any more and diversion of traditional cargo from the age-old anchorage port will be resisted with all its might.
At a press conference on Sunday, N. Narasimhareddy, Vice president of all India HMS and other leaders expressed their strong resentment over diversion of wheat cargo to deepwater port under the pretext of emergency and lack of handling facility.
They said that they would take the issue to the Assembly and see that the Chief Minister keep up his election eve promise on safeguarding the anchorage port and thousands of workers depend upon it.
