Agarwal is credited for FACOR expansions in Orissa and Maharastra
Vijayanagaram, February 4, 2007Noted industrialist and FACOR Group of Companies Chairman Umashankar Agarwal passed away on Friday at his residence at Tumsar in Maharastra. He was 74 and is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters. He played a key role in the development of Ferro Alloy products.
He was credited with expanding FACOR activity to Orissa and Maharastra. Besides a plant at Garividi in Vizianagaram district, he was instrumental in setting up a mini steel plant at Nagpur and charge chrome unit in Orissa. On the occasion of Golden jubilee celebrations of FACOR held at Garividi on September 25, he announced the expansion of FACOR Group by investing Rs. 2000 crores.
