He crossed the limits of decency and decorum
Hyderabad, February 28, 2007The Assembly Speaker KR Suresh Reddy on Wednesday suspended Telugu Desam Party (TDP) member N. Janardhana Reddy from the House for one day for crossing all the limits of decency and decorum and directly intimidating the Chair.
When the TDLP Deputy leader rushed towards the podium in the midst of a debate on the remunerative prices for cotton farmers, the Speaker reacted very sharply. All the trouble began when the leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu did not budge to the Speaker's remarks on the support prices to farmers following which the Speaker ordered his mike to be cut.
Meanwhile, the Legislative Affairs Minister, K. Rosaiah immediately moved a motion to suspend the member from the House. The TDP members speaking to media said that the action of the Speaker is unfair.
