Demands Chief Secretary to show the GO file
Hyderabad, February 26, 2007The Telugu Desam Party MLAs staged a sit in dharna in front of the Chief Secretary's Office on Monday evening demanding to show the file notings relating to the controversial GO MS No. 938.
They called off their protest after an hour and announced that the party's decision to move a privilege motion against the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy for misleading the house. When they demanded the Chief Secretary to show the file, the leaders were told by the Chief Secretary to file an application for the same under the Right of Information Act.
Dr. Janardhana Reddy said that the MLAs are being denied the basic information about the GO, giving a goodbye to transparency and accountability. The MLA P. Keshav charged the Government that it has no faith in democratic institutions. Later they raised slogans against the Chief Minister and the Government.
