The Hyderabad police today arrested two persons and seized fake currency worth over Rs.36 lakhs. The arrested persons are Mohammed Shoukat Ali of Maida district in West Bengal and KV Satyanaryana Reddy of East Godavari district in the Andhra Pradesh.

The Guntur police have succeeded in busting a major gang misusing credit cards of ICICI Bank in various cities and towns resulting a loss of Rs. 80 lakhs to the Bank. The Visakhapatnam Branch Manager of ICICI Credit Cards P. Ashish Babu along with 14 others were misusing the lapsed or discontinued cards from various places in the State and getting them either continued or changing the address.

The police charged them of stealing the three or four digit consumer ID number of the lapsed cards and making calls to the call centre to get those cards restored. The Police on Monday arrested Ashish Babu along with Pravin Reddy from Guntur, Sudhakar Rao and Srinivasa Reddy of Visakhapatnam and Venukumar of Hyderabad at Guntur Railway station.
