Association takes decision to press their demands
Hyderabad, February 24, 2007Petroleum Tanker Owner's Association in a statement on Saturday said that he petroleum tankers will go on strike from the midnight of February 28 to press their demands.
The Association asked the oil companies to pay Rs. 1500 for each local trip covering distance of 39 km. and in case of outstation trips, it demanded payment of Rs. 15.60 per km that was rejected by the companies.
However, oil companies agreed to pay Rs. 1080 for local trips and Rs. 15.36 per km for outstation trips, which was rejected by the Association. The Association charged that the companies were not honoring the agreement on extra payment for the circuitous way the tankers were forced to take in view of restrictions imposed by the police department on plying in the city limits. In addition, the Motor Vehicle tax and road toll burned the tanker owners further according to the Association said.
