TDP delegation meets Governor for action against the Government

Hyderabad, February 22, 2007

Proceedings of the State Assembly began with a noisy note from TDP members who raised slogans against the Government for attacking press freedom after the Speaker disallowed five adjournment motions on the Margadarsi issue by all the political parties.

The House was adjourned without transacting any business after the Opposition parties raised a furore over the searches conducted by the CID of Police on Margadarsi Financiers. This was followed with the action of opposition members by staging a dharna in the well of the House to press for discussion on their adjournment motion.

The Speaker KR Suresh Reddy adjourned the House for the next day as the TDP members seemed determined to stall regular business. A delegation of TDP MPs and MLAs led by the party president N. Chandrababu Naidu went to Raj Bhavan and urged the Governor Rameshwar Thakur to restrain the Congress Government from attacking the Eenadu group and take necessary action against the State Government.
