SMS service for power consumers

New service launched on Wednesday

Hyderabad, February 21, 2007

An SMS service for power consumers, e-Vaaradhi, was launched on Wednesday to provide the latest information about the billing and meter and power supply related complaints of consumers. The service, which was inaugurated by the AP Transco Chairperson Rachel Chatterjee at Vidyut Soudha, however, has been restricted to the consumers in Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari districts of AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited.

Two agencies have been selected to provide the service-Cellebrum Private Limited and Sanco Telesystems. The consumers of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts served by Cellebrum need to message EPDC followed by SC No 6300a for registration and get information. Those in East and West Godavari districts, served by Spanco will have to message EP followed by SC No. 6365.
