The officials of Central Bureau of Investigation just days after unearthing assets worth over Rs. 3 crore belonging to IT Commissioner (Appeals) K Hariprasad, the CBI had gone to Kolkata a couple of days ago returned back with a bunch of documents belonging to him. Hari Prasad is a native of Nalgonda and is currently posted in Kolkata. The CBI has registered a case against him under Prevention of Corruption Act.
The CBI has written a letter to the Income Tax department in Delhi asking them to shift him to some insignificant post where he would not be able to influence anyone. A transfer is likely to be effect within a couple of days.
Sources close said that the CBI also wrote to various banks to freeze all accounts. It is learnt that Hari Prasad holds nine bank accounts in the city. It is learnt that he had invested mostly in and around city and that he did not invest money anywhere in Kolkata. The CBI is tracking him for sometime and obtained some information on his properties and other acquisitions. CBI officials have asked the public to come forward and inform us about such corrupt activities so that they can act promptly.
