Breakthrough in TV channel newsreader murder case

Accused held in Bangalore

Bangalore police arrested the prime accused in the murder of Teja TV Channel newsreader Sujata, Chandu on Wednesday night. The Police on a tip off raided a house at Nanjappa Circle in Shantinagar and arrested Chandrasekhar, a makeup man with Teja channel.

According to police, Chandrasekhar lured Sujata to Vajram Lodge in Vijayawada promising her a loan of Rs. 50,000. When she turned up there for hometown, he allegedly drugged, raped and stabbed her to death. The colleague of her alerted the Bangalore Police Commissioner. A team raided the house and arrested the accused. A blood stained shit and a pair of trousers were seized.

A police team from Andhra Pradesh arrived Bangalore on Thursday, took the accused into custody, took him to Vijayawada, and will be produced in the court.
