The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy announced in the Assembly on Thursday that plans are being finalized to bring 120 million gallon water from Godavari to the twin cities an the scheme would be launched in a couple of months. Relying to a debate Motion of Thanks to Governor's address, the Chief Minister assured that the Major Irrigation Minister P. Lakshmaiah will convene a meeting with experts to clear the doubts of the TRS members on the total ayacut in Telangana region. He announced that another university would be opened in either Mahabubnagar or Nalgonda.

He said that from the next academic year, minority student will get scholarships on par with backward class student. He also said funds will be allocated in the forth-coming Budget for setting up of a new Medical College in Adilabad, Srikakulam and Ongole.

He also announced that Sunkesula barrage will be widened to compensate the loss that the farmers of Kurnool suffer on account of sparing 10 tmcft water from KC Canal to Anantapur and the project reports will be finalized in a couple of months and works would be completed in two years.
