Hyderabad, February 14, 2007

The Vijayawada Police were successful in unraveling the mystery behind the killing of B. Lakshmi Sujata, a TV newsreader who was murdered in a lodge in Governorpet on February 10. The police arrested on Wednesday one Chandrasekhar, a make up man with Teja TV and his roommate Ravi with committing the office. While Ravi was arrested and produced before the court, Chandu is still at large.

The Vijayawada Police Commissioner CV Anand said that the crime was pre planned and it was jealously that led to the killing. The victim was intoxicated and raped before she was murdered in Vajram lodge in the city on February 9. He said that she was friendly with Chandu who thought that she was in love with him and he used bought costly gifts to Sujata. Though she was intimate with Chandu, she maintained rappot with a few colleagues at the FM Radio Channel launched by Teja six months ago.

Unable to bear with the close movement of Sujata with fellow colleagues, he allegedly hatched a conspiracy to end Sujata in Vijayawada during her return journey from her native place and accordingly they committed the crime.
