Vijayawada, February 13, 2007

The Vijayawada police on Tuesday five persons including two from Hyderabad into custody in connection with the murder of TV newsreader B. Lakshmi Sujatha. The police were hopeful that the mystery would be unraveled in a couple of days.

Three of the suspects who were picked up hailed from Gudivada and happened to be childhood friends of the victim. It may be recalled that the newsreader was murdered on Saturday last. She joined Teja News a year ago and is learnt to have led a luxurious life in Hyderabad

The police suspected that the offenders might have lured her with an offer of a lucrative opportunity to earn more and invited her to the lodge. The motive of the murder still to be a mystery. The City Police Commissioner, CV Anand said that the investigation is going in a right direction and the mystery will be solved shortly.
