Opined 21st century Gurukulam at Basara would benefit students
Hyderabad, February 13, 2007
The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday virtually endorsed the Government proposal to establish IIT at Medak instead at Basar. Addressing the Congress Legislature Party (CLP), he explained the need for IIT at Medak in view of proximity to the airport.
He opined that the 21st century Gurukulam proposed at Basara would benefit the students of Adilabad more than an IIT. The IIT issue was raised by city Congress MLA P. Janardhan Reddy apart from implementation of GO 610, Pothireddypadu dropping of the third phase project of bringing Krishna water, denial of pensions for the aged in the twin cities and halting construction of Rajiv Gruhakalpa, also in the city.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government is committed on GO 610 for implementing it. As far as Krishna water, he said the pressure on the river water increased and completion of the third phase would turn out to be useless if water was not available.
