Former Lokayukta Justice Ramanujam put up as Chairman
Hyderabad, December 9, 2007The Lok Satta party launched People’s Commission against corruption under the chairmanship of former Lokayukta Justice R Ramanujam. Lok Satta Party National Co-ordinator Jayaprakash Narayan announced this at a meeting organized to mark the International Anti Corruption Day. He appealed to the people to provide proof against corrupt leaders.
Public can sent letters to Post Box No.100, Hyderabad 500 004 or mail their information to combatcorruption@loksattaparty.com or call on 040-23232711 between 8am to 9pm. He said that the Commission would act independently and conduct a thorough and impartial inquiry into all the complaints received from the public. It would also give specific recommendations to the Government and credible non-governmental organizations and associations. The members of the commission would be announced in a week.
Jayaprakash Narayan termed that corruption is a bigger crime than murder. If a person commits a murder, only one victim’s family will suffer. Whereas, corrupt leaders will make the entire nation suffer, he said. The Lok Satta Party felicitated two former MLA N Raghava Reddy and former minister Simhadri Satyanaryana for their integrity in the public life.
