MIM MLA fails to appear before the Commission

Hyderabad, December 8, 2007

The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), which heard the case of Junior Doctors who boycotted duties after the attack at Niloufer Hospital directed them to attend the duties. The Commission asked the Government to refer the case to the CBCID and pay compensation to the doctors injured in the attack by the MIM MLA.

The Junior doctors who appeared the before the Commission which is enquiring into the issue for the second day in succession. The MLA did not appear before the Commission. The doctors pleaded the Commission to provide security to the teaching hospitals.

The doctors decided to attend emergency duties at all hospitals but continue their strike at Niloufer Hospital, called for ‘Chalo Hyderabad’ on Monday, and make it clear that their strike will go on until the MLA is arrested. At the directors of the High Court, the police had booked a case against the MLA and 29 of his followers on various courts including attempt to murder and attempt to outrage the modesty of women but they did not arrest the accused.
