Opines that six tuskers be sent to their native place
Vijayanagaram, December 7, 2007The four-member team constituted by the Central Elephant Project Authority finalized its report on the much-hyped jumbo menace in the Srikakulam and Viziangaram districts.
The team opined in the three-point report that the six tuskers should be sent to their native places at Lakheri dense forests on foot under the guidance of trainees. It hinted at inviting an elephant from Karnataka along with the Forest Officials as was done in the case of Operation Gajendra.
The last option, the tuskers should be captured, trained for two months at Veeraghattam forests and sent to the zoo, which would prove expensive to the Government.
