Former Minister M Satyanarayana Rao appointed APSRTC Chairman

Orders issued on Tuesday evening to this effect

Hyderabad, December 4, 2007

The much controversial former minister and senior congress worker M Satyanarayana Rao has been appointed as the Chairman of the AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). The post is in the rank of Cabinet Minister and Satyanarayana Rao will hold the post for a two years term. The Government has issued orders to this effect on Tuesday evening. He would be assuming charge in a day or two. This is the second time for MSR to be the Chairman of APSRTC.

Satyanarayana Rao’s appointment comes as a surprise after his recent stinging remarks against the Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Telangana State as latest as last month. He evinced keen interest in Governor’s post and even lobbied with senior party leaders in Delhi. In his three-decade long political career, he always was a centre point of controversary for one or the other issue.
