Girl hospitalized and condition is said to be serious
Hyderabad, December 14, 2007On Friday morning, a mentally disturbed software engineer attacked a Degree student at Narayanaguda Cross Roads in the morning. The victim, identified as Archana, was admitted in a corporate hospital and her condition was said to be dangerous.
The accused Vijay Kumar, who apparently had been jilted in his student days, stated that he hated girls and particularly deplored their talking to boys. Seeing Archana walking towards Bhavan’s New Science College at Narayanaguda, he picked up a big stone and hurled it at her. She was badly hurt and bleeding profusely and collapsed. The passers-by overpowered him and called the police.
According to Narayanaguda Sub Inspector T Ramana Rao said that the miscreant, a native of Nagarkurnool in Mahabubnagar district was staying alone in Chikkadapaly and was working as a software engineer in a private firm at Abids. He said that Vijay Kumar developed a grudge against girls in general. A case of attempt to murder was booked against him and would be remanded in judicial custody.
