Hyderabad, August 8, 2007The Central Government's Board of Approval cleared the proposal of Infosys company's proposed Special Economic Zone in the city's outskirts, the IT major Infosys is posed to increase its presence in the city substantially. It has already had a sprawling 550 acres campus at Gachibowli.
For the proposed planned expansion, the State Government had proposed a 447 acres of site at Pochampally on the Hyderabad-Warangal State Highway. It alloted the land at Rs.12 lakhs per acre to the Infosys. It aims to build one of the biggest IT campuses in the world.
According to sources, it would create nearly 2,000 jobs in the State. Meanwhile, the Central Government has extended the in principal approval to Reliance Industries' Maha Mumbai Special Economic Zone by a year with a condition that its size should be cut of by 5,000 hectares.
